LSS Financial Counseling office opens in Rochester

“Our goal is to make a significant difference by serving 700 Rochester individuals and families in our first year.” –Chad Larimer, Rochester financial counselor

Right now hundreds of families in southeastern Minnesota are experiencing high levels of financial stress due to the area’s high cost of living and limited affordable housing. To address their needs, LSS Financial Counseling recently opened its newest office in Rochester.

This location is a direct response to years of requests for holistic, in-person financial counseling services in the community by individuals, social service organizations and businesses in the area. While LSS Financial Counseling can help individuals and families across Minnesota assess their current financial situation and create a workable budget free of charge by phone, it is often helpful to meet in person. Generous private philanthropy of the Rochester Area Foundation, The Schmidt Foundation, area churches and individual donors made the successful launch possible.

Rochester area residents will now have better access to:

  • Create debt management plans and improve credit
  • Tackle student loan debt
  • Prepare to buy a home
  • Prevent foreclosure
